Invitational Summer Institute 2025 VIRTUAL

The Invitational Summer Institute (ISI) is the core of the CTWP's professional development programming, and it is an activity that is conducted by all 175+ sites of the National Writing Project across the nation. Teachers who apply for and attend the CTWP Invitational Summer Institute engage with other teachers and site directors to share and explore effective teaching strategies.
This summer participants will meet online for 18 days in June. All will receive either three or six hours of graduate credit from the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Participants who hold hold a master's degree or who are working on a doctoral degree can sign up for 3 hours. ALL educators--regardless of degree/s earned--can apply to join the Institute. To learn more about the Institute, please download our flyer.
When the participants complete the Institute, they become Teacher Consultants for the National Writing Project and join the 550+ Teacher Consultants in the CTWP network.
The San Marcos ISI is facilitated by Director Liz Stephens and Co-Director Robert Merkett.
