Driving question:  What’s the deal with population growth?

Students will work together to answer the question, What’s the deal with population growth?

Using data from the US Census Bureau’s website Algebra students can find a way to model population growth and address some of the issues associated with a growing population.  Each group of two or three students will need to have access to a computer with Excel.  Each group of students will also post their results on a Blog online as a form of evaluation.  The instructor of this project should be familiar with exponential growth and finding a line of best fit with Excel.
