description

Students will work in groups of three to prepare a unit suitable for use in a school setting. The unit will include an anchor video, benchmark lessons, investigations, calendar, objectives, project rationale, theoretical basis for project, concept map, assessment strategy, related resources, modifications for special needs students, and technological tools to assist in implementing the project.

The Educational Advancement Foundation has funded a grant program for PBI. Students write a grant to fund their project. They use the Toyota TAPESTRY format because it is fairly standard and there is a correlated math version (Toyota TIME). The grants are reviewed by a small committee and one grant per semester (regardless of number of course sections) is selected for funding. Winners receive $1000 towards teaching supplies in their first year of teaching.
