CONCEPT STATEMENT: Your legs contain huge muscle groups that burn a lot of calories when they are worked out. These muscle groups include glutes, calves, hamstrings, and quadriceps. The muscles in your legs are used frequently everyday which is why it is important to work them out to keep them strong.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: Students will be able to perform squats with good form, do a proper lunge, execute a power clean correctly, and be able to do calf raises.

RESOURCES: NCSF, ISSA, and NASM books.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: Always have a spotter, rack your weights, and use correct form.

SUPLEMENTARY MATERIALS, HANDOUTS: Barbells, weight plates, squat rack, and dumbells

Students will be broken up into groups of 3 or 4 for their weight stations.

 

 

The students will attempt to perform 3 sets of 15 repetitions for each station in the time allotted for each station.After 7 minutes the students will rotate to new station even if they have not completed their 3 sets of 15 repetitions.

No. (changing their body position can make them feel it better in the targeted muscle groups)
