Sarah Walters
Sarah Walters, M.S.
Sarah completed a BS in Recreation Administration in 2014 and an MS in Recreation and Leisure Services - Therapeutic Recreation in 2016, both at Texas State University. Prior to joining the College of Education Advising team, she spent several years as a Lecturer in the Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP) teaching introductory and service learning courses in the Recreation Administration Division.
She has a background in youth development programming, special event planning, and recreation therapy, but her passion is for higher education and for working with students to maximize success in all aspects of their academic careers. Sarah has loved working with HHP students in the classroom and in the San Marcos community, and she is eager to support them in the Advising Center with the same focus on providing an encouraging and empowering environment for all Bobcats.
When she’s not in the office, Sarah can often be found hiking, fly-fishing, reading sci-fi or historical fiction, or rooting for her beloved Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in the English Premier League. You might also find her hiking the San Marcos Greenbelt with her Blue Heeler, Gus.
