Admittance to the Educator Preparation Program

Purpose and Definition

According to the Texas Education Agency, there are specific requirements to becoming a classroom teacher. One of these requirements is completion of an approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP). Therefore, in addition to your admission to the university, you must be formally admitted to the EPP.

  • Formal Admittance: the EPP must notify the applicant of the offer of formal admittance in writing by e-mail. For a student to be considered formally admitted to the EPP, the student must accept the offer of formal admittance in writing by the deadline provided in the offer.
