I like the CAT of Content, Form, and Function Outlines because it can help students to think logically. Having a sense of “What?”, “How?”, and “Why?” is really important in analyzing problems. In addition, I would like to add that it is often to include “So What?” in engineering paper. I think having students to explain “So What?” would really show their understanding of the subject analyzed.
