1 plastic spoon

1 rock big enough for class to see

9 pieces of fabric at least a few inches square

3 transparent containers of different shapes (1 with lid)

8 cafeteria tray

33 clear plastic vials with tight fitting lids

8 or more small plastic beads or marbles

8 or more small rocks or pebbles

150 push pins

2 dish tubs

2 tweezers

2 plastic serrated knives

4 rolling pins for crushing

1 hand-operated juicer

18 clear plastic cups

16 magnifying lenses or hand held microscopes

Dissecting microscopes (optional)

2   1 tsp. measuring spoons

2 1 tbsp. measuring spoons

1 calibrated spring scale

1 funnel

1 piece of wood

1 large, lightweight object (Styrofoam)

1 small, heavy object (fishing weight)

1 piece of plastic

1 piece of glass (NOT SHARP)

Consumable

2 index cards (3x5) labeled #1 and #2

3 bags of cotton balls

12 plastic bags or other containers to hold collections of solids and liquid items

2 boxes wooden toothpicks

1 small box metal paper clips (screws/nuts/bolts/washers/coins)

1 cup or so of thick clear liquid like shampoo or detergent

1 cup or so of thick opaque liquid like conditioner

2 different colors food coloring

150 sealable clear, plastic snack bags

5 large plastic trash bags (something to cover tables)

12 plastic teaspoons

6 fine tip permanent markers

Several sheets of aluminum foil

1 candle or chunk of wax

2 collecting devices for liquids, such as medicine droppers

About 2 cups dry cereal that can be ground

3-4 oranges

Baking soda

2 cup shaving cream

1 tube of toothpaste

2 cups sand

8 tbps. Borax powder

12 sentence strips

1 light weight object (pencil)

3 identical balloons

1 tbsp vinegar
