What kinds of changes occur with the seasons such as fall, winter, and spring, summer? Do you know what kind of life changes, weather changes, and holidays there are in the different seasons? |
The leaves change, the temperature and the wind.The rain fall and snow, The animals take shelters like bears hibernate and stuff. Like Christmas break in winter, and summer break in summer, spring break in spring. |

Why is the Sun important? |
The sun is important because it gives sunlight to plants and plants are producers for all the other animals that eat, that need the sun so plants will grow and so that the other animals in the food change can eat. |

It is a circle.Student proceeds to draw a Sun in the middle and a near circle with Earth on the orbit. Then student changes her mind and makes the orbit oval in shape. |

The earth goes around the sun and the moon so when it’s near the sun it is daylight and when it turns around to the moon it is night time. |
Reflection
The questions I asked were to evaluate what my student knew and what she thought about the seasons and what may affect the seasons.Her answers in my opinion lacked any direct instruction she may have had in the past.When approaching the GEMS guide for instruction on The Real Reasons for the Seasons there will be little to no prior knowledge other than the misconceptions she has brought with her.When the discussion and survey are covered in the GEMS guide, she along with other students who may not have much experience with the topic may experience confusion.It will be important to explain slowly and clearly and repeat concepts in different ways so that my student and all other students understand the basic concepts of the lesson.
