Mark Chavez Bio

GRANT COORDINATOR

Mark Chavez is a Texas State University Alum having graduated with both his Bachelor's in Animal Science in 2018 and then receiving his Master’s in Student Affairs in Higher Education in 2020. He previously worked as a graduate assistant for Institutional Inclusive Excellence-Student Initiatives working on restorative practices and educating young students on tolerance and inclusion as it pertained underrepresented student communities. Having interned at both The University of Texas at Austin and St. Edward’s University in different capacities, he hopes to bring unique and innovative perspectives to the team. He has worked with the SSS team for nearly three years now and has served in his current role as grant coordinator for a year and a half. Mark is originally from El Paso, Texas. He loves Star Wars and enjoys running, bouldering, and spending time with his hedgehog Jiro.
