A+ Credit Union Scholarship
The A+ Credit Union Scholarship is awarded to recognize and show appreciation to members of the AATFCU and their children. Recipients must be seeking professional certification to enter the teaching profession.

A+ Federal Credit Union Endowed Graduate Scholarship
Distributions from the endowment shall be used to award scholarships to graduate/doctoral students pursuing degrees in the College of Education. The selected recipient should be a member of A+ Federal Credit Union.

Alison Helene Jacobs Memorial Scholarship
The Alison Helene Jacobs Memorial Scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in education or special education, who have documented financial need, and who are U.S. citizens and have a record of academic merit. The donor's preference is that the recipient displays good work skills, good moral background and academic merit.

The Anita Ogdee Byington Memorial Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing teacher certification who have documented financial need.

Athletic Trainers Endowed Scholarship
The Athletic Trainers Endowed Scholarship is awarded to certified or licensed Athletic Trainers who are pursuing a master’s degree in the College of Education at Texas State University.

Barry and Susan Balser Endowed Scholarship
Distributions from the endowment provides scholarships to students enrolled in the COE and majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies in C&I; GPA of 3.0 or better.

Bessie Ray Liddell Schuchard Education Endowment
The Bessie Ray Liddell Schuchard Education Endowment is awarded to a graduate student majoring in Elementary Education who lives, or at one time lived, in Milam or Cooke counties, Texas.

Canyon Lake Retired Teachers Association
The Canyon Lake Retired Teachers Association is awarded to a student at the sophomore or junior level who lives in, or parents live in the Canyon Lake, Bul Verde, Spring Branch or Fischer area.

Carol Plassmann Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is to honor Carol’s time as a beloved teacher and passion for education. As a middle school American History teacher, she loved to provide hands-on learning opportunities for her students. Carol graduated in 1969 and is a proud alumna of the COE. Recipients must be pursuing their teacher certification and will receive the award during the time of student teaching.

Cathey E. and James E. Moore Endowment in the Colleges of Business and Education
Distributions from the endowment shall equally fund scholarships to student(s) majoring in Business or Education. Recipient(s) should have strong student and work habits, should be making satisfactory progress towards a degree, and must be a resident of Webb County.

The Cecil D. and Rosalie N. Strickland scholarship is awarded to students pursuing teaching certification.

Christopher and Jennifer Eni Scholarship
The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships and financial assistance for students who meet the criteria. Scholarship may be renewed. The recipient must be a graduate student enrolled at Texas State University in the College of Education, pursuing a career in helping dyslexic children (Reading Major); and must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.

The Clara Jean Nickelson Bradley scholarship is awarded to full- time sophomore, junior, or senior female students pursuing a degree in elementary education. Requires GPA of 3.0 or better.

Connie Erwin Notley President's Endowed Scholarship
The Connie Erwin Notely President’s Endowed Scholarship is awarded to elementary education majors who are residents of Caldwell or Pecos counties, have demonstrated high scholastic achievement (3.0 or better), and hold membership in a student professional education organization.

Costley-Oyervides Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Distributions from the endowment shall be sued to award scholarships to UG and/or G students pursuing a teacher certification in Secondary Education in the COE. Recipients must be junior or senior pursuing teacher certification in Secondary Education; or graduate student pursing a Master’s in Secondary Education. Preference will be given to Hispanic or African American female students.

David C. Caverly and Cynthia L. Peterson Scholarship Fund
Dr. Cynthia L. Peterson joined the faculty of Texas State University in 1993 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction and was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in 1999. She was a successful teacher, mentor, and researcher at Texas State, and was an early leader and advocate toward developing the doctoral program in developmental education. Contributions were received from family, friends and colleagues to honor Dr. Cynthia Peterson with her husband, Dr. David Caverly, making substantial contributions. Distributions from the endowment will provide scholarships to doctoral graduate literacy students enrolled at Texas State.
- Recipient must be a full-time (9 hours per fall or spring semester), doctoral graduate student with a Literacy specialization enrolled in the Developmental Education Program within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction within the College of Education.
- Recipient must have maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 in previous graduate work.

The David F. Votaw Endowment awards students who are studying statistics and/or instructional technology. Recipients must have a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Dawn Breihan Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Health and Human Performance
The Dawn Breihan Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Health and Human Performance is awarded to students majoring in Exercise Sports Science with an all-level teacher certification. Recipients must be a junior or senior, 3.0 GPA, and enrolled in 12 hours of study while attending the university. Recipients must receive at least one recommendation from Exercise and Sports Science faculty. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in volunteerism or service learning in elementary physical education.

Dorothy Boyd Memorial Endowment
The Dorothy Boyd Memorial Endowment is awarded to a student with high GPA who also is an elementary education major, junior status, enrolled for a minimum of fifteen (15) per semester during the year of the scholarship award.

Dr. Robert “Bobby” Patton Endowed Scholarship
The Patton scholarship is awarded to exceptional athletic training students that are pursing a professional degree in Athletic Training, enrolled at Texas State University in at least 6 hours, have a Texas State GPA of at least 3.5, and be an active member of the University’s club pertaining to Athletic Training.

Ed & Linda Burkhardt Endowed Scholarship
The Ed & Linda Burkhardt Endowed scholarship is awarded to students majoring in a program in the Department of Health and Human Performance who are pursuing teacher certification and can document financial need.

The Emmett L. & Carolyl Korff Education scholarship is awarded to students in the College of Education who are planning to teach or coach and have financial need.

The Empress Y. Zedler Endowment is awarded to graduate students in Special Education in the College of Education at Texas State University - San Marcos.

Frank L. and Alice A. Christ Scholarship
Provides scholarships and financial assistance for students who meet the criteria. Recipient(s) must be a full-time (9 hours per fall or spring semester), doctoral graduate student(s) with a Learning Assistance specialization enrolled in the Developmental Education Program within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University, and must have maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 in previous graduate work

The Fred C. & Allene Preuss Willard Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Elementary Education who are in good standing, can document financial need, and have a GPA of at least 2.75.

Garden of Achievement Endowed Fund
The Garden of Achievement honors Education students, alumni, faculty, and staff affiliated with any of the College's departments. Distributions from the endowment will support scholarships to students enrolled at Texas State University in the College of Education and provide discretionary funds for the College of Education. Per the Dean of Education's direction, distributions from this fund may also be designated for other beautification improvements to the College of Education.

Gertrude Evelyn Herder-Shafer Endowed Scholarship
The Gertrude Evelyn Herder-Shafer Endowed Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Education who are pursuing a degree in teaching. Preference is given to students pursuing a teaching career in elementary education and requires a GPA of 3.2 or better and must provide evidence of extracurricular activities and/or performing community services.

The Grace Parker Voigt Endowed Scholarship is awarded to deserving graduates of Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD who are pursuing a degree in education.

Hazel McCanne Endowment
The Hazel McCanne Endowment awards students majoring in elementary education students seeking EC-6 certification. Recipients must have a GPA of 2.75 or better, be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, and must be members of ACEI.

Henrietta H. Avent Endowment
The Henrietta H. Avent Endowment is awarded to students with excellent academic credentials who are majoring in Physical Education with a preference toward those minoring in Biology or Chemistry. Recipients must demonstrate academic achievement (3.0 or better GPA) and document financial need. The scholarship pays full tuition and fees.

The Inez H. Carranza Scholarship is awarded to students in the College of Education who are preparing to become teachers.

Distribution from the endowment will be used to provide scholarships to students enrolled in the College of Education and majoring in elementary education.

Irma Bruce Memorial Endowment
The Irma Bruce Memorial Endowment is awarded to students pursuing teacher education who have high scholastic achievement, can document financial need and leadership, and who hold membership in ACEI or Kappa Delta Pi.

J. Lloyd Rogers Family Scholarship
The J. Lloyd Rogers Family Scholarship in the College of Education is awarded to students pursuing teaching careers at the elementary school level. Recipients may be undergraduate or graduate students. Recipients should have documented financial need. A male student of color should be considered for this award.

James D. Studer Graduate Research Fellowship
Distributions from the endowment shall be used to provide awards of no less than $2,500 per year to graduate students) in the Master of Education program in Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE), and said award shall be renewable for one additional year. The recipient must be a full-time student in SAHE and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50.

James Warren Ballard Endowed Scholarship in Counseling
The James Warren Ballard Endowed Scholarship in Counseling is awarded to students pursuing a M.S. degree in Professional Counseling. Applicants must be enrolled full-time as a student, be in need of financial support and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Janice Moon Kolbe Scholarship in the College of Education
Janice Moon Kolbe Scholarship in the College of Education is awarded to students with excellent academic credentials who are pursuing a major in Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood through Grade 6). Recipients will be of junior or senior classification, have a 3.25 or better GPA, and have financial need.

The Jessie Helen Haag Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in school health or secondary education interested in teaching school health in Texas secondary schools and who do not have an athletic scholarship or grant.

John Garland Flowers Memorial Endowment
The John Garland Flowers Memorial Endowment is awarded to full-time students pursuing a degree with teacher certification.

Johnston-Wendler Scholarship
The Johnston-Wendler Scholarship is awarded to full-time students of junior or senior status who are pursuing teacher certification at Texas State and are legal residents of Texas, with a consistently maintained GPA of 3.00 or better.

Jovita Ross-Gordon Scholarship
The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships and financial assistance for students who meet the criteria. The recipient must be enrolled at Texas State University in the Master of Arts in Adult Education and demonstrate financial need.

Joyce Barrett Reasoner Endowed Scholarship
The Joyce Barrett Reasoner Endowed Scholarship awards scholarships to undergraduate students pursuing EC-6 with a GPA of 3.25 or better. Elementary teachers who are teaching in the San Marcos Consolidated School District and who are pursuing a master's degree or doctorate in an area that will enhance their current role in an educational setting will also be considered. Master's or doctorate applicants will include a recommendation by a school administrator from the San Marcos Consolidated School District when applying.

The Julia Victor and Leslie Carlisle McDonald Endowment is awarded to undergraduate students who are accepted into the teacher education program who have a 3.0 or better GPA, are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, and have membership in at least one professional organization related to education.

Karen Rauch Barganier Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Distributions from the endowment will be used to provide scholarship funds for Texas State upper-division undergraduate students who are in their semester of in-class teaching experience (student teaching).

Kathryn E. Motheral Endowment
The Katheryn E. Motheral Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior full-time student majoring in education. Preference is given to a senior elementary education major. GPA of 3.0 or better is required.

Kolbe Family Endowment
The Ella Kolbe Scholarship in Elementary Education is awarded to students majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies, Early Childhood through Grade 6. Recipients must be classified as junior or senior, have a 3.0 or better GPA and financial need.

Lesley Jones Graduate Fellowship
Lesley Jones Graduate Fellowships will be awarded to graduate students in the professional counseling program with outstanding academic credentials, who have demonstrated a commitment to be engaged in collaborative research, scholarship and/or learning beyond what is required for classroom performance with one or more faculty members in the professional counseling program. Recipients will, during the year of the award, co-present their learnings with a professor at a professional conference and/or submit them for professional publication. Applicants are required to provide a statement of support from a faculty member who is supervising the applicant's research project.

The Liekovsky Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the College of Education who pursuing teacher certification.

Linda E. Homeyer Play Therapy Scholarship
The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships and financial assistance for graduate students who meet the following criteria: enrolled at Texas State University in the Professional Counseling Program with an emphasis on child/adolescent counseling and a stated interest/focus in play therapy; demonstrate financial need; and must have completed COUN 5369: Child and Adolescent Counseling Methods before applying.

The Lorine Ramsdell Scholarship is awarded to a College of Education student who is a graduating senior at Marble Falls High School.

Mabelle Umland Purcell
The Mabelle Umland Purcell Scholarship is awarded to full-time students, sophomore level or above, who are majoring in Education. Applicant must have sustained GPA of 3.0, have documented financial need, and whose hometown population is less than 50,000.

Martin Juel Endowment
The Martin Juel Endowment is awarded to graduate students in the College of Education who have completed 12 graduate credit hours, are enrolled in at least 9 graduate credit hours per semester, have a 3.5 or better GPA, and have a GRE of 900 or better.

Marvin Teague Alumni Scholarship
Awarded to students majoring in Education or pre-law. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and enroll in at least 12 hours each semester.

Mary Jane Hamilton Memorial Presidential Endowment
The Mary Jane Hamilton Memorial Presidential Endowment is awarded to undergraduate students pursuing a career in teaching at an elementary or secondary school level. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Recipients must write a one-page letter to the PSH Foundation sharing their reason(s) for entering the teaching profession.

Mary Pavlu Gillar Scholarship
The Mary Pavlu Gillar Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students pursuing a career in classroom teaching. Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to those who can document financial need.

Michael L. Abbott Graduate Scholarship in Education Administration
The Michael L. Abbott Graduate Scholarship in Education Administration is awarded to graduate or Ph.D. students seeking advanced study in Educational Administration or in the College of Education. Recipients must be a Texas resident, have documented financial need, and maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Nell and Dexter Hoover Endowed Scholarship in Education
The Neil and Dexter Hoover Endowed Scholarship in Education awards junior or senior level students pursuing B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with focus on EC-12th grade. If no applicants meet these criteria, award may go to graduate students pursuing ME in Elementary or Secondary Ed. Preference is given to students who are residents of Texas, have documented financial need, and who have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.75.

Patricia Fertsch Beck Education Scholarship
The Patricia Fertsch Beck Education Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students from Bastrop, Gonzales, Lavaca, or Fayette counties who are majoring in elementary education. Recipient(s) should have a strong background in extra- curricular activities including high school and civic honors.

Preston T. Bowling Scholarship Fund
The Preston T. Bowling Scholarship Fund is awarded to students who are enrolled to become certified in the teaching profession from grades K-12. The recipient will have graduated from a high school in Robertson or Milam counties and will have resided in one of those counties for at least 5 years. The recipient will have a financial need who is either a 2nd generation U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien who has been in the United States lawfully for at least 18 years. The recipient will be in good standing with the University and not have a criminal history.

R. K. Shafer Education Endowment
The R.K. Shafer Education Endowment is awarded to incoming freshmen who desire entry to the teaching profession, have a GPA of 3.2 or higher, evidence of extra-curricular activity and/or performing community services. Criteria for selection in descending order of importance: 1. suitability & motivation for teaching 2. Documented financial need 3. Scholastic performance & extracurricular activities in high school.

Ralph F. Herder Endowed Scholarship
The Ralph F. Herder Endowed Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students in education who are preparing to become teachers. Recipients must have at least a 2.8 GPA and a substantial documented financial need.

Raymond Cavness Endowed Scholarship
The Raymond Cavness President's Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students who are pursuing a degree in Education.

Roena Hughson Memorial Endowment
The Roena Hughson Memorial Endowment is awarded to full-time undergraduate students in education who are residents of Hays, Guadalupe, Comal, or Travis counties, who have a GPA of 3.0 or better, and who have documented financial need.

Sally Boeck Memorial Scholarship
Distributions from the endowment shall be used to award scholarships to students pursuing a degree in the College of Education. Preference will be given to nontraditional undergraduate students (at least five years out of high school). Students must be emailed full-time and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.

San Marcos Association of Retired Teachers
The San Marcos Association of Retired Teachers Scholarship is awarded to a full-time student pursuing a degree in the field of education. Recipients must have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA and must be in their student teaching semester.

Sandee Marshall Abbott Endowed Scholarship
The Sandee Marshall Abbott Endowed Scholarship Fund is awarded to full-time undergraduate students pursuing teaching certification.

The Susan Diane Jackson, Shirley Cayer Jackson, Henry Berry Jackson, Jr., and Carla Anne Jackson Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the College of Education.

Tague-Vaughn Endowed Scholarship for Recreation
The Tague-Vaughn Endowed Scholarship for Recreation is awarded to students pursuing a major in Recreation Administration with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 or better GPA. Awards are based on academic merit, leadership, intellectual promise, and financial need may be considered.

Texas Society Daughters American Revolution Scholarship
The Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship is awarded to students with excellent academic credentials who are pursuing teacher certification in Special Education. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate campus activity participation, responsible citizenship, and potential for leadership.

William M. Bechtol Graduate Fellowship for Teaching
The William M. Bechtol Graduate Fellowship for Teaching is awarded to post-graduate students pursuing teaching certification and a Master's degree in Education who have excellent academic credentials. Recipients must be pursing the role of teacher in an elementary or middle school in Texas and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

William T. Tilton Scholarship
The William T. Tilton Scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in Physical Education who maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA, have documented financial need, and graduated from a high school within Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe or Hays counties.
