Research Partnerships

Texas State University's College of Education is proud of our partnerships with government agencies and non-profit foundations to support research to transform education and society.

Selected examples of our externally funded projects and their impact are featured below.

  • Education

    • The Institute of Education Science and the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services frequently funds Texas State University on topics like addressing the shortage of teachers ready to educate students with disabilities.  The Department of Education also continues to support ongoing TRIO programs, which first came into being on the TXST campus six decades ago.

    • NASA funding supports the Lyndon B. Johnson Institute for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Education and Research in its mission to engage teachers and students in STEM learning.

    • Improving education in STEM is an important part of the NSF’s mission.  The NSF currently funds College of Education projects which examine how social factors can influence the learning of STEM, and in other funded projects faculty collaborate with traditional STEM departments (e.g. Biology) at both Texas State University and elsewhere.

    • The Spencer Foundation supports College of Education research and how an understanding of cultural factors can support education success.

    • THECB supports includes faculty investigation into college readiness and success models, and provides ongoing support for the Clinic for Autism, Research, Evaluation, and Support (CARES).

    • TCDD supports the development of supportive postsecondary education programs at the College of Education.

    • Raise Your Hand has provided funding to enhance our widely recognized teacher-educator program.
