Dr. Duane Knudson from the College of Education’s Department of Health and Human Performance has been selected as one of this year’s Texas State University faculty members who are being honored with the title of University Distinguished Professor (alongside Dr. Patricia Shields). This award honors individuals whose performance in teaching, research, and service has been exemplary and recognized at a state, national, and international level.
Dr. Knudson will retain the title of “University Distinguished Professor” for the duration of his service at Texas State. Dr. Knudson will receive a one-time $5,000 award, a commemorative medallion, and recognition during the fall convocation this year. Additionally, President Trauth submitted Dr. Knudson's portfolio to The TSUS office to be considered by The Texas State University System (TSUS) Board of Regents for the Regents’ Professor Award.
President Trauth states, “The honorees were chosen from among members of an exceptional faculty, and I commend Dr. Knudson and been considered by The Texas State University System (TSUS) Board of Regents for the Regents’ Professor Award on their excellence as faculty members and for their contributions to Texas State.”
