Five Developmental Education Students Awarded Doctoral Merit Fellowship

September 11, 2018

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers two doctoral degrees in developmental education: a Ph.D. that will produce researchers, university faculty and scholars; and an Ed.D. that will produce highly qualified program leaders and practitioners in developmental education programs.

As the first Ph.D. and one of the only Ed.D.s in developmental education in the country, we are pleased to announce that five of our very talented Developmental Education students have received the Doctoral Merit Fellowship this year. Texas State Doctoral Merit Fellowships are prestigious awards given to new doctoral students in their first year of study. These awards are only awarded to approximately 12 new students annually.

Congratulations to our students, James Dyer, Barrie McGee, Stephanie Jarrett, Norma Reyes and Christie Troglin-Hill Cox.
