Curriculum and Instruction Faculty Member Named Online Teaching Award Honoree

Dr. Emily Summers, associate professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction has been named an honoree for the 12th annual Award for Excellence in Online Teaching.

Summers, who joined the university in 2005, will be recognized at a virtual award showcase Feb. 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The event will celebrate recipients of the award, which recognizes and rewards superior online teaching, provides models of excellence for faculty, and encourages continued improvement in online teaching.

Summers’ research interests include the examination of the intersection of cultural contexts, education, and schooling, emphasizing transitions to and within postsecondary settings.
