Dr. Russ Hodges has received the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for the Coaching and Tutoring Profession, which recognizes his extraordinary, widely recognized, and lasting contributions to the field.
The annual award honors individuals across learning, tutoring, supplemental instruction, coaching and developmental education who have demonstrated commitment, promoted progress and catalyzed positive change.
Hodges, an associate professor at Texas State University, was previously named a Fellow of the Council of Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Associations in 2009, the organization's highest honor.
At Texas State, he co-created the master’s and doctoral programs in Postsecondary Student Success in Learning, Literacy, and Mathematics, formerly Developmental Education. The doctoral program was the first of its kind in the nation. He teaches courses in both programs and coordinates the EDP 1350 course for undergraduates.
His research focuses on student success interventions, including student success courses, peer mentoring, peer tutoring and academic coaching. He also researches policy within his field.
