College of Education Boosts Research Profile with New Journal

ANDI JOURNAL

The College of Education at Texas State University has added a significant achievement to its growing reputation by becoming home to Advances in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ANDI), an international peer-reviewed journal. 

With a new impact factor of 1.46 and a SJR ranking in psychology, the journal enhances the college’s standing as a hub for high-impact research and scholarship. 

ANDI is unique among journals housed within Colleges of Education. It publishes research from a wide range of disciplines, including neuroscience, medicine, psychology and special education, along with basic and translational studies involving animal models. This diverse and transdisciplinary approach sets ANDI apart, reflecting its commitment to advancing understanding across multiple fields. 

Special Education Professor and Director of the CARES Clinic for Autism Research Evaluation and Support, Dr. Russell Lang, serves as the journal’s Editor-in-Chief. The editorial board also includes Dr. Tracy Raulston, an Associate Editor with significant contributions to the field, and Dr. Reem Muharib, one of the journal’s esteemed reviewers. They serve alongside board members representing a wide range of fields from eight different countries and more than 50 different research universities and hospitals. 

Lang emphasized the journal’s importance to the college and university. 

“In my opinion, ANDI is a notable asset for the College of Education at Texas State especially in international exposure and how it influences research across multiple fields,” Lang said. 

The journal has already achieved significant global reach, with more than 230,000 article downloads in 2023 alone. This level of engagement highlights the influence of ANDI’s contributions to academic and professional communities worldwide. Its success also bolsters the College of Education’s role in driving research excellence and fostering collaborations that extend well beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries.
