M.Ed. in Elementary Education: Teaching and Transforming Advanced and Gifted Education Concentration
This program’s accelerated options and practical emphasis on teaching and transforming gifted education offer educators an opportunity to make an immediate impact.
Through the program’s courses, students acquire skills, knowledge, and research for teaching, mentoring, and leadership in advanced/gifted education. Students complete courses in areas such as emerging frameworks for gifted education, leadership in gifted education, creative teaching and learning, contextual factors in advanced/gifted education, curriculum depth and complexity, mentoring, and more. An elective course offers students an opportunity to explore an additional area of interest.
Program graduates are well-prepared for a variety of career opportunities, such as advanced/gifted education specialist; advanced/gifted education coordinator; advanced-learning instructional coach; and classroom teacher with enhanced skills for nurturing the creativity and talents of all students.
