We kicked off the Spring 2001 SciTech project last Friday, January 26, in Pace, Bertucci, and Ruch-Flynn's classes. We will want to schedule engineers for the week after spring break on March 21, 22, and 23 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). Again, we will go from 8:00am until 12:30pm.

Attached are jpeg's of the course for the Spring project. The object is to put a playing card through the hole on the vertical surface opposite the starting area. The starting area is centered on the course is 18" x 12". The device must fit in a 12"x12"x6" volume before triggering. The hole begins vertically 8" above the surface(above the starting volume of the device--6"). The red barriers are 1/2" plywood that are 11 1/4" x 6". The poles are separated by exactly 12"--allows a very accurate rolling vehicle to go straight down the course with only a 3/4" clearance.

I will attach a kick-off sheet on my next email. Again, this semester we do not include a 3view drawing of the course on the kickoff sheet. Instead, we require the students to measure the course on kickoff day.

Also, the Parents and Engineer Night at the end of the semester will be set for May 23, 7-9pm.
