Anchor Video Design Principles
The design principle of this anchor video is, through the walkthrough of an already performed experiment, to introduce students to what it is that they will be performing in the next couple of days. The video is in not so much of a narrative format, but in a more scientific, explanative format, with a final project question in the end, which the students will have to solve on their own as a benchmark lesson. It is generative in that it actually contains questions that the students could answer in groups, and they build on each other. The data they collect, and data that is given to them within the project is considered to be implemented in their project, so it does contain embedded data. Also, in general the video is presenting something that will connect directly to their presentations, and allows them to understand the rationale behind the experiment and its set up as well.
