Students Finish the Research Worksheet. |
We are going to begin researching our topics today. But before we start we are going to
do a quick exercise. In your
groups I want you to look on the internet for me and find Louis ArmstrongÕs
birth date and the website where you got it from. Then you are going to write it on an index card and turn
it into me. Who wants to tell me your answer? As you start your research you need to make sure that the resources you are using are legitimate and sited. Why is this? In order to direct your research I have made a sheet for you to help you organize what information you are looking for and how the different components of what you find are related. Are you going to find all of the information in one place? How do you know if you have a good source? Will information that you find contradict other information? What do you do in this case? |
Students give various answers- Louis ArmstrongÕs birth date is unknown. You have to back up your reasoning and where you got your information. No, different sources tell you different things. It is reviewed by scientist or known to be a scientific based resource. Yes. Look at the data scientist have collected and analyzed or conduct your own experiment. |
Explain: Students explain to the teacher what their topic is and
how they are going to simulate it by turning in their concept map. |
