Professional Expectations, Dispositions, and Academic Integrity
Students in the Doctoral Program are emerging professionals, leaders, and scholars; therefore, we expect them to adhere to any relevant professional or ethical standards. Although there are no professional ethical standards specific to Developmental Education, several of its related fields and disciplines do have such standards (Math, English, Literacy, Counseling, etc.).
Within the Doctoral Program, we expect all to demonstrate professionalism, self-awareness, respect, and integrity in the classroom, at any internship/practicum/assistantship sites, in research sites, and in professional situations. It is worth noting that a doctoral career necessarily entails students being challenged to grow, both personally and professionally. As program faculty, we are committed to our professional obligation to mentor students through this process.
